Old lock is functioning again! Today I had the pleasure of restoring an old lock back into use in Ayton. The lock was not functioning and had been out of use for some time. After some investigation and adapting the new and old parts, the lock now functions as it should.
The original (main body) part of the lock needed stripping down and servicing. Once that was done I fit a new screw in cylinder, and fitted a suitable thumb turn to operate the latch from inside the property.
Since starting the business (Hirst Locksmiths) I have now recommissioned a few locks since, so if you have an old lock you would like working again get in touch to arrange an appointment.
