Four very different jobs today for Danny Hirst from Hirst Locksmiths of Galashiels! First of all Danny was in Gattonside to offer some advice to a customer on her mothers current locks and whether they suffice for insurance policies. Danny was pleased to give the locks the thumbs up. The only replacement required was for a rim cylinder and night latch. The customer wants a brass finish night latch, which Hirst Locksmiths currently have none of so one is now on order.
Hirst Locksmiths second job was in Maxton to fit a locking strip from a job Danny Hirst did on Friday. It was then just a short drive across to Newtown St Boswells to fit a pair of new handles and an ABS euro cylinder.
Last job of the day was in Melrose for another antique furniture job đ. The customer inherited the lovely wardrobe from her late mother. The wardrobe had unfortunately been locked shut for years! Within a couple of minutes Danny had the cupboard door open, much to the customers delight! The current lock is a very old furniture lock, but Hirst Locksmiths is going to attempt to make a key for it. đ đ đ Just recently Hirst Locksmiths has been successful in making new keys for old furniture locks, so if this is something you would like to discuss, please get in touch.
