I had an appointment booking in Greenlaw today. The customer had issues engaging the hooks with the multipoint locking strip when lifting the handle. This prevented the door from locking. The customer was over the moon when I informed her that no new lock was needed, just a simple adjustment of the doors hinges!
The customer them thought she might as well get me to look at the front door as the key sometimes wouldn’t turn. After removing the lock from the door and a quick inspection, I gave the customer some more good news! the key she was using was a copy of the original and it had been over cut! She has now binned that key and is using the original.
Hirst locksmiths will not replace anything that doesn’t need to be. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it!
On the drive back home, I saw a sign for Hume castle. I thought why not, let’s go to a look. I’m glad I did, as the views were amazing and it is a fascinating place with a lot of history behind it.
