Supporting Those Who Serve
Danny Hirst of Hirst Locksmiths understands the importance of recognising and supporting those who serve our country and local communities.
After serving 24 years in the British Army with the Royal Engineers, Danny established Hirst Locksmiths in April 2021. The business continues to reflect the values developed throughout his military career, including courage, discipline, respect, integrity, loyalty and selfless commitment.
As part of his commitment to giving back, Danny offers a 5% discount to serving Armed Forces personnel, veterans, NHS staff and Blue Light Service personnel.
Customers are encouraged to mention their eligibility when booking so that the discount can be applied to their invoice.
Remembrance Day: Looking After Our Veterans and Serving Personnel
With Remembrance Day approaching, it is important to recognise that this time of year can be particularly difficult for some serving members of the Armed Forces and military veterans.
Remembrance can bring back powerful memories and emotions. While it is a time to honour those who have served and sacrificed, it is also an opportunity to check in on those who may be struggling.
Danny understands the importance of looking after others, both from his military service and his wider community involvement.
If someone is finding things difficult, talking to a trusted friend, family member, fellow veteran or professional support service can be a valuable first step. There are also charities dedicated to supporting serving personnel, veterans and their families with mental health and wellbeing.
Sometimes, a simple conversation and taking the time to listen can make a real difference.
It is equally important to remember that people do not always show when they are struggling. Checking in with friends, colleagues and family members can help someone feel less alone.
If you are struggling, you do not have to face things alone. And if you know someone who may be finding life difficult, take a moment to ask how they are doing.
