World Mental Health Day
🚨 Potential triggering post 🚨
This is a message from Danny Hirst of Hirst Locksmiths. A Veteran of the British Army of 23 years was medically discharged with PTSD and Depression. He encourages people to talk if you are struggling.
“We shouldn’t need a national; or world day in this instance to recognise something so important. If you are struggling, please talk to someone. It can make a such a huge difference and could be the best thing you have ever done!
5 years ago this month I wanted to take my own life. Thankfully I asked for help. From the day I asked for help I received world class treatment and gained the tools to deal with my PTSD and depression. I also had the right people around me to support me (friends and family).
I am now on the other side. I am married to my best friend; the love of my life, I have an amazing circle of friends and family, I have my own business and I am the best version of myself that I have been for a long time!
Things can change and things can get better; I am proof. Don’t get me wrong, I can still have down days and struggle…. But, I have learned how to deal with them days, but most importantly…… I know that talking to someone ‘WILL’ pull me through the other side!
Please, please reach out to someone/anyone if you are struggling. 🙏 “
