Well today was a cheeky start to the week for Hirst Locksmiths! Four jobs booked in in #hawick, #selkirk and two in #lauder. On the face of it when the bookings came in, Danny Hirst thought it would be a fairly easy day! How wrong he was!! 🤣🤣🤣
Job of the day has to go to this little beauty (the lock in the photo)!! Danny Hirst of Hirst Locksmith in Galashiels arrived at the property and the customer had attempted to remove the lock from another door and put it on a door that is not used much. This was due to the key sometimes needed to be jiggled to get it locked/unlocked from the outside.
Now this is a 30+ year old lock with a lot of working parts inside. A test to a seasoned locksmith in itself! More of a test when the customer has already opened it up and everything fell out and was put back in any old place. The customer likes puzzles so Danny Hirst doesn’t blame them for wanting to try.
After some head scratching and a bit of a clean up, Danny HirSt your mobile Scottish Borders Locksmith got the lock back together, fitted back on the door and tested it. It worked like a dream from both inside and out! The customer was over the moon and commented on how smooth it now worked! Better than the other lock actually! 👌
They were so impressed that they have booked Hirst Locksmiths to pop back next week to resolve some other minor issues with a couple of other doors in the house.
So anyway; although it was a testing day, it was a great day to be a locksmith! Getting jobs like that that take you out of your comfort zone and really make you work to get a solution. Then to see a happy customer as you are leaving, makes it all worth it. 😅
